      1. up-to-the-minute/ latest 
      原句：Newspapers cannot carry any new world news.
      换new：Newspapers do not carry the up-to-the-minute world news.
      扩展：While newspapers do not carry the up-to-the-minute world news, the crucial issue is they give us a great deal of useful knowledge.

      2. current/ contemporary
      原句：Technologies could best aid in responding to new challenges.
      换new：Technologies could best aid in responding to contemporary challenges.
      扩展：While technology has always been a significant promoter of national growth and productivity, the crucial issue is deciding which types of technologies could best aid in responding to contemporary challenges.

      3. modern/ up-to-date/ state-of-the-art
      原句：The government should provide new classrooms and other teaching facilities in less developed regions.
      换new：The government should provide state-of-the-art classrooms and other teaching facilities in less developed regions.
      扩展：While educational resources should be distributed fairly, the crucial issue is that the government should provide state-of-the-art classrooms and other teaching facilities in less developed regions.

      4. fresh/ original 
      原句：The government should unveil new plans to stimulate the economy.
      换new：The government should unveil fresh plans to stimulate the economy.
      扩展：While the government should unveil fresh plans to stimulate the economy, the crucial issue is how to find enough number of consumers when the total population is aging at a rapid rate.

      5. novel/ unique/ unusual
      原句：Employees with lots of new ideas are welcomed in the labor market.
      换new：Employees with lots of novel ideas are welcomed in the labor market.
      扩展：While employees with lots of novel ideas are sometimes welcomed in the labor market, the crucial issue is whether the candidates can fulfil the task most effectively and efficiently.
