上面四个句子，你能找出错误在哪吗？相信绝大部分同学都能搞得定他们。不过，指出错误和解释错误是两回事。能够把错误解释清楚，才证明你真正掌握。案例中的逗号错误，全部发生在从句的连接方式上。如果你还不会，别着急，看完今天的内容后，你一定可以掌握。
逗号使用原则一：逗号隔开不同的名词/形容词，它们共同为一个主体服务。例如：
The guests included the president, the first lady, the vice president and the minister of defence.（四个人都是Guest之列）
The beautiful, old house had a huge living room. (即美又老旧）
He spent the weekend researching his topic, writing his essay and proofreading his final draft. (逗号之后的部分都是在描写he在周末的状态）
逗号使用原则二：逗号隔开两个不同句子时需要和连接词一起使用。例如：
And, but, so, for, or, not, yet等等。
Jason had difficulty in his first semester, but he was at the top of his class by the end of the year. （前后句子有转折，but配合逗号一起使用）
The beach was nice today, and the water was warm. （沙滩和海水完全独立，需要and和逗号一起使用）
逗号使用原则三：从句或短语开头的句子，用逗号隔开。例如：
In the meantime, I suggest that you concentrate on passing your exams.
Dad, can I have some money?
或许你会质疑我，并不是所有从句和短语开头的句子都需要用到逗号呀。比如：
On Friday I have an exam.
这句话就是正确的，难道有用到逗号吗？你的没错，这句话的确没有逗号。
只有当从句和后面部分之间，并不会出现歧义时，往往不需要用到逗号。比如：
To John, Smith was always polite.（这里是两个人）
如果去掉逗号，
To John Smith was always polite. (这句话就出现语法错误了）
逗号使用原则四：如果我们在句子中要插入其它任何信息，都需要逗号的存在。例如：
Students, therefore, should be allowed to use cell phones in class.
My neighbors, John and Kim Sullivan, are both professors at the college.
The film was, in my opinion, a waste of two hours.
His brother, who had been a vegetarian for years, refused to come to family barbecues.
