Paraphrase
Paraphrase的意思是以新型式或新表达方式重述他人的论点或意念，并且必要文内或在脚注中提供对其来源的解释。如果作家的意念是独创的，则需要对其进行注释，以将其与您自己的想法区分开。
Summary
Summary是当您自己的想法以外还解释他人意念以更加其说服力的情况。例如，当您打算使用他人的意见进行结论时，必须指定其来源并做一个脚注解释。此外，也需要在参考列表中做记录以指定参考来源的作者。
Facts,info and data
在留学作业写作的过程中，有时我们需要提供一些数据或事实以支加强我们的想法。例如，当我们使用权威组织发布的数据调查时，引入该信息时一定要指明数据的来源。
Additional info
参考长篇文章时，学生可能无法把全面信息都传达到自己的文章，因此，这种情况下最好插入一些增补的信息。就是说，需正文中列出所适当的观点即可。相关补充信息不仅可加长篇幅还可以显示留学作业的广度和深度。
APA引用格式的文内引用
参与美国写作课程或某些专业课，市场营销学或管理学相似的时，一般情况下老师都建议运用apa引用格式来撰写留学作业。什么是apa引用格式呢?APA作为美国心理学会(American Psychological Association)的缩写。简而言之，这是写留学作业时要运用的格式，它也可以被视为既定的学术写作规定。它起源于1929年，主要在psychology、education、social sciences的领域被使用的。
APA引用格式范例：According to Jones(1998),"Students often had difficulty using APA style,especially when it was their first time"(p.199).
或者：
She stated,"Students often had difficulty using APA style"(Jones,1998,p.199),but she did not offer an explanation as to why.
MLA格式的文内引用
在留学作业写作时，MLA格式也是一种特别重要的citation格式。其要求比APA或其他citation格式更严肃。MLA格式包括两个组成部分，即文本内的引用和在文章最后的参考书目页面。例如，当在文本中引入MLA格式的引用时，需要按下面的型式整理：

或者：

芝加哥格式的文内引用
芝加哥格式的引用标记相对简单，一般情况下只要在添加引用地方的右上角添加顺序号码即可。此外，在芝加哥格式中，也可以通过尾注或脚注的方式添加注释。
值得留意的是，注释中需要运用单倍行距，但各条款之间则要运用双倍行距，范例：

哈佛格式的文内引用
在英国，哈佛格式是留学作业写作中最常用的in text citation格式。其包含两个主要部分：文内引用和参考列表。文内引用中提到的他人意见都需要以(作家的姓氏与出版日期)的格式指出引文的来源。在参考列表中，所有正文中提及的来源都应该以更详细方式列出起来。
按哈佛引用格式要求您需要在正文中标明作家的姓氏和出版年份。当您插入直接引用的时候，还需要写出页码。当您摘要了文章的大一个部分，则没有必要写出页码。
文内哈佛格式引用的范例:
